VIDEO: Starz Announces Plans For FOUR Power Spinoff Series
STARZ has revealed the four upcoming chapters for the crime-drama series Power. The announcement was revealed during Sunday night’s (February 9) series finale of Power.
For the first of four, Power Book II: Ghost, will pick up where the predecessor left off with Tariq navigating through life continuing his father’s legacy. Reprising roles include Michael Rainey Jr. (Tariq), Shane Johnson (Saxe), and Natauri Naughton (Tasha).
New cast members on board include Mary J. Blige who plays a powerful businesswoman named Monet, while Method Man portrays the intelligent lawyer, David Maclean. The new series premieres this summer.
The timeline shifts back for Power Book III: Raising Kanan, which will center on the upbringing of drug-dealer Kanan, who was killed in Power‘s season 5. The series executive-producer, and recent Hollywood Walk Of Fame inductee, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson will return for the character.
Power Book IV: Influence will follow the political career of the upcoming governor, Rashad Tate, played by Larenz Tate.
Finally, Power Book V: Force, finds Joseph Sikora returning as Ghost’s right-hand man, Tommy Egan, and will follow his move to Los Angeles. The power never ends.
